USCA Encouraged by Senate Commerce Committee Hearing on Broadband Expansion

The United States Cattlemen’s Association (USCA) is encouraged by the Senate Commerce Committee’s leadership on the issue of broadband expansion to address some of the challenges associated with COVID-19. The pandemic has made it clear that U.S. cattle producers must be able to access reliable broadband service to preserve their livelihoods. The benefits of expanded broadband go beyond agricultural business opportunities and tools, which increase productivity and revenue. It also ensures our producers and their families have access to telehealth opportunities and online educational tools.

We applaud Chairman Wicker and Ranking Member Cantwell’s efforts to expand technology across rural America and appreciate the Committee examining these issues more closely at this week’s hearing. Our members recognize the benefits of universal broadband and will continue to offer our perspective on the importance of modernizing America’s communications infrastructure.
