Saddle Tradition Continues

USCA Member Roddy Rost and Nutra-Lix, Inc. Salesman J.D. Steen

(BILLINGS) – Nutra-Lix, Inc. and the United States’ Cattlemen’s Association (USCA) continued their annual tradition of awarding a custom-made saddle to a lucky USCA member this year at the Montana Agri-Trade Exposition in Billings, Mont. The annual drawing has served to encourage membership and participation in USCA.

The Montana Agri-Trade Exposition is the largest agricultural tradeshow in the region and takes place every February.  As Nutra-Lix is based out of Billings Montana, the MATE show has served as the perfect location to draw for the saddle.

In the past, representatives from the USCA drew the name of the saddle winner at the MATE show. However, this year, the saddle winner was drawn at the inaugural Winter Thaw, held in conjunction with the MATE. Karen Yost, Vice-President of Nutra-Lix, Inc. drew from the thousands of names, and the winner was Montana native, Roddy Rost from Willard, Mont.

It has been several years since a saddle winner came from the state of Montana. The Rosts picked up their saddle at the Nutra-Lix, Inc. plant in Billings. J.D. Steen, a salesman for Nutra-Lix, Inc., presented Rost with his new saddle.

Rost commented on the quality on the saddle when his wife, Juanita, added that he probably would not even get the chance to ride it once his kids got their hands on it.  The Rost family ranches just outside of the small Southeastern Montana town of Willard. They raise commercial cattle and horses as well as a “few other critters” as Rost puts it.

“It’s really important to be involved with these organizations that support us ranchers,” said Rost, “we need these guys looking out for us while we are busy working at home. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that we are going home with this new saddle”.

Since its inception in 2007, the USCA works towards forwarding United States’ beef business interests in Washington D.C. by making sure cattle producers from all over the nation have their voices heard on the legislative stage. Nutra-Lix, Inc. has spent over 30 years in the beef nutrition industry. Resulting in a natural partnership with the USCA and the drawing for the saddle each year.
